Confectioner iconbean to bar The San Francisco Chocolate Factory was started in 1999 by an import-export company that at the time was the largest supplier of cocoa beans to SFBA chocolate companies. When we started this blog in 2009, we visited their store which was in a big funky old Mission District house. Sadly, it seems redevelopment swept that away. They are primarily online and wholesale now, with a physical address above a tire store.

They are known for their SF Landmark themed tins of chocolate drops and tins of different percentage chocolate drops to pair with different wines. They also make some chocolate covered caramels and almonds.
