Vegan candy bars & hot chocolate

Local ChocolatierConfectioner iconEast Bay confectioner, Coracao, was started in 2008 by 3 guys who loved old school candy bars but wanted something healthier. They use rare cacao, such as Arriba Nacional cacao from Ecuador and Venezuelan criollo, combined with other high quality ingredients to make their “healthier take on classic chocolate” candy bars.

The candy bars are vegan, minimally processed, kosher, and 100% certified organic. They contain no dairy, gluten, soy, peanuts, or cane sugar. They also make other types of chocolate bars, like a 81% dark with almonds and sea salt, and truffles.

In 2019 they acquired like-minded CACOCO, maker of healthier drinking chocolates. Like Coracao chocolates, their drinking chocolates are 100% plant based, certified organic and fair trade, and sweetened with coconut sugar instead of cane sugar. Some of their drinking chocolates include herbs, medicinal mushrooms, and superfoods.

You can find Coracao bars, CACAO drinking chocolate, and their other confections online, and at some retail stores, such as Hudson Greens & Goods. Check their website for locations. They also offer kitchen pickup.
