Javier Santiago started making confections at 15 working in the old Shaw’s chocolate factory. When that closed he continued making chocolates and established his self-titled confectionery in 2021. Then in 2023 he bought the 75-year-old Preston’s Candy and Ice Cream Shop saving it from closing. He has kept the shop’s vintage decor and treats like honeycomb and peanut brittle while incorporating his line of bonbons, caramels, bars, barks, and Rocky Road.

You can buy Javier Confections online, at the original Preston’s location, and at some retail shops around SFBA.
