Experimental art chocolates
flying noir is an East Bay-based chocolatier that creates unique pieces of art which are meant to be eaten. Artist and chocolatier Karen Urbanek uses unusual ingredients, natural dyes and colors, and ethically sourced chocolate to create her edible art. Flying noir chocolates are mostly truffles, but Karen also makes caramels, bars, paves, and molded chocolates.
You can buy flying noir chocolates online and at special events. You can also schedule a pickup at their kitchen. Check their website for details.
CBTB tip
Read the piece description before eating a flying noir chocolate because it will add to your appreciation of the experience.
