{"id":883,"date":"2010-04-27T11:29:21","date_gmt":"2010-04-27T18:29:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/?p=883"},"modified":"2022-10-20T15:03:15","modified_gmt":"2022-10-20T22:03:15","slug":"sad-story-about-chocolate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/chocolate-news\/sad-story-about-chocolate\/","title":{"rendered":"Sad story about chocolate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I started the day wrong by reading this article about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/archives\/la-xpm-2010-apr-27-la-sci-chocolate-20100427-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">chocolate and depression<\/a>, which seemed a bit of a downer.<\/p>\n<p>It describes a study that found that people who are clinically depressed tend to eat more chocolate than the non-depressed. Unfortunately, it can be construed to mean that chocolate eating leads to depression.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, just reading the article made me a little depressed. I hope this doesn\u2019t turn into a situation where chocolate is demonized, and people feel bad about eating chocolate.<\/p>\n<p>All the research really showed is some depressed people self-medicate with chocolate.
