We\u2019ve visited some of <a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/d-i-y-tours\/wine-country-tour-2\/\">Napa Valley\u2019s chocolatiers<\/a>\u00a0before, but it\u2019s always good to find more and catch up with the others.<\/p>\n<p>Chocolateering in wine country is like orienteering: Navigating through diverse, unfamiliar terrain. We\u2019ve visited twice now and have been unable to leave empty handed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14888 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/VSSsign200.jpg\" alt=\"Vintage Sweet Shoppe sign\" width=\"200\" height=\"206\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/vintage-recipes-wines-sweets\/\">Second destination: Vintage Sweet Shoppe<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/vintage-recipes-wines-sweets\/\">Vintage Sweet Shoppe<\/a><\/strong> is the only chocolatier in the Napa Valley that also makes their own wines. They offer chocolate and wine tastings featuring their wares. Plus they sell chocolate covered bottles of other Napa Valley wines, along with a full line of truffles and other chocolates and confections. They also offer ice cream, baked goods, and coffee drinks. In short, they offer most every non-living thing that could get your heart racing.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14895\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14895\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-14895 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Oxbow300.jpg\" alt=\"Oxbow Public Market\" width=\"300\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Oxbow300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Oxbow300-200x113.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14895\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Oxbow Public Market has 2 good chocolate options<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/ourchocolatiers\/good-green-chocolate\/\">Third destination: Oxbow Public Market<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Oxbow Public Market houses upscale food stalls, foodie boutiques, a green grocer that stocks a lot of artisan chocolate, and the second location of veteran Napa chocolatier,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/anettes-chocolates-oxbow-public-market\/\">Anette\u2019s Chocolates<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We checked out <a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/ourchocolatiers\/good-green-chocolate\/\">Hudson Greens &amp; Goods<\/a> and walked away mighty impressed with their chocolate selection (and with a few things to try).<\/p>\n<h4>Sidetrack: The Store at CIA Copia<\/h4>\n<p>When we parked at the Oxbow Public Market, we noticed the <a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/cia-at-copia\/\">CIA at Copia<\/a> building next door, which is a big multi-use complex dedicated to all things foodie. We decided to check out their store and found local Napa chocolate by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/ourchocolatiers\/kollar-chocolates\/\">Kollar Chocolates<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/k-m-extravirgin-chocolate\/\">K+M Extravirgin Chocolate<\/a><\/strong> for sale there.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14996\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14996\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14996\" src=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/la-foret-feature.png\" alt=\"la foret bars\" width=\"200\" height=\"102\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14996\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pretty hand-wrapped bars at La\u00a0For\u00eat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/north-bay\/our-foray-to-la-foret\/\">Fourth destination: La For\u00eat<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Like walking into a chocolatier\u2019s shop in France, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/north-bay\/our-foray-to-la-foret\/\">La For\u00eat Chocolate &amp; Confections<\/a> <\/strong>was the best kind of find on our chocolateering trip. Cute shop, interesting chocolatier, beautiful wares, and lots of delicious interesting chocolate. And you don\u2019t have to travel all the way to France to enjoy it.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15045\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15045\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15045 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Kollar-300.png\" alt=\"Kollar interior\" width=\"300\" height=\"279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Kollar-300.png 300w, https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Kollar-300-200x186.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15045\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kollar\u2019s chocolate bar wall is the first thing you see when you enter the shop<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/ourchocolatiers\/fun-times-kollar-chocolates\/\">Fifth destination: Kollar Chocolates<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>One of our recommended chocolatiers, <a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/ourchocolatiers\/fun-times-kollar-chocolates\/\"><strong>Kollar Chocolates<\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/recommended\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1259 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/cupicon2.png\" alt=\"4-cup chocolatier\" width=\"14\" height=\"16\" \/><\/a> is a must-visit for both elegant and irreverent chocolate. Their truffles are stunning, and the poprock barks and chocolate owl maracas are pretty fun.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2020, Kollar\u2019s founder and head chocolatier, Chris Kollar, was named Chopped Champion on Food Network\u2019s Chopped (season 44, episode 8), and his winning white miso truffle is available in the store.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve visited Kollar twice: In 2014, we were\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/outsidechocolate\/chocolate-in-wine-country\/\">awed by it all<\/a>. This time, we got to <a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/ourchocolatiers\/fun-times-kollar-chocolates\/\">see the fun there<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14751\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14751\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-14751 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Finesse-feature.jpg\" alt=\"Finesse, the Store\" width=\"300\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Finesse-feature.jpg 300w, https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Finesse-feature-200x148.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14751\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Puffy clouds hover on the floor of Finesse<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Sixth destination: Finesse, The Store<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/finesse\/\">Finesse, The Store<\/a> is world famous, Michelin-starred Napa Valley Chef Thomas Keller\u2019s lifestyle store where you can buy his entire line of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/k-m-extravirgin-chocolate\/\">K+M Extravirgin Chocolate<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0bars. which contain minimally processed cacao and olive oil substituting for cocoa butter.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, it was closed the day we visited (a Tuesday), so we could only peek in the windows at its simple, almost bare, elegance.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15041\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15041\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15041 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Woodhouse300.jpg\" alt=\"Woodhouse Chocolate\" width=\"300\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Woodhouse300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Woodhouse300-200x147.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15041\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">You wouldn\u2019t expect to find chocolate troll dolls and sparkly unicorn bark in such classy surrounds and yet&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/the-collection-woodhouse\/\">Seventh destination: Woodhouse Chocolate<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/the-collection-woodhouse\/\">Woodhouse Chocolate<\/a>\u2019s<\/strong> retail space looks very high end with crystal chandeliers and wall tapestries, but it includes a very kid friendly lineup of fun molded chocolates (elephants and troll dolls), sparkly \u201cunicorn bark,\u201d and cereal inspired bars, along with their more dignified truffles.<\/p>\n<p>We first visited Woodhouse in 2014 and <a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatebythebay.com\/magazine\/local-chocolate\/candy-jewelry\/\">tried their truffles and other confections<\/a>.
